Over the past few weeks or so, the Los Angeles Lakers have been surrounded by trade rumors involving the storied NBA franchise acquiring superstar center Dwight Howard. With the Lakers and Orlando Magic working on a blockbuster trade that would send All-Star center Andrew Bynum elsewhere, two-time NBA champion Pau Gasol has no longer been at the center of trade rumors in Los Angeles.
Even though it appears that Bynum is the next Laker to be traded, Gasol isn’t convinced he won’t be dealt before next season. Despite that being the case, Kobe Bryant has tried to set his teammate’s mind at ease by saying the following courtesy of Brian Mahoney of The Associated Press via Twitter:
Kobe, answering a question from a Spanish reporter about Pau's status with the Lakers: "As long as I'm there, he's going to be there."
